Our Mission
The Adams
County Economic Development Corporation is a private,
not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing county-wide
economic development services to benefit the citizens of Adams
County. Our programs are designed to assist existing employers
and also to attract new employers to our area. Our aim is to
assist with job creation and job sustaining projects.
We continue to recognize the importance of Agriculture and Tourism
in Adams County and the significant contribution these industries
make to our local economy. We are pleased to offer quality programs
and services to assist with their business development plans.
ACEDC is a participant in the regional marketing initiative
under the brand "Smart Market" in a concerted effort to showcase
South Central Pennsylvania.
Most importantly, ACEDC remains keenly aware of the importance
of our natural environment. We appreciate our history and heritage
and the natural beauty of Adams County. It is our true desire
to seek an appropriate balance between the winds of change and
commercialization and the desire to preserve our natural environment.
ACEDC Overview
The Adams County Industrial Development Authority was created
in 1998, according the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
regarding Industrial Development Authorities. This Authority
was capitalized by the Adams County Economic Development Corporation.
The Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams Designates
the Board of Directors for this Authority. Information pertaining

page.
As a result of a task force initiated by business communities
in Adams County, the Adams County Economic Development Corporation
was incorporated in 1989, as a private, 501(C)6 not-for-profit
organization. Funding sources include the County of Adams, Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, contributions, and membership. Information

The Adams County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) was
honored at the 2007 Pennsylvania Farm Show on last night for
its efforts to support agriculture by providing funding for
businesses.
Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff presented ACEDC with the
PAgrows Award, >named for the state's agricultural funding consultation
program. "Agriculture is the number one industry in Pennsylvania
and a vital part of the economy. With programs like PAgrows
we can help farmers and >agribusinesses meet their capital financing
needs," Wolff said. "ACEDC has been a great partner with PAgrows
by securing funding at the county level to continue to grow
Pennsylvania agriculture."
ACEDC has participated in more than 20 grants and loans financed
through the First Industries Fund, which was launched as part
of Governor Edward G. Rendell's economic stimulus package, to
bring agriculture and agritourism into the mainstream of the
state's economic development efforts.
ACEDC has secured more than $2.5 million in state funds and
leveraged an >additional $9 million in private sector funds.
The group also helps interested farmers in the application processes
for programs such as Small Business First and the Machinery
and Equipment Loan Fund.
In addition, ACEDC is working to increase agritourism efforts
in the >county. Several of the projects include farm-stay destinations
and food- related businesses.
PAgrows was launched by Governor Rendell to bring the state's
agricultural grant and loan programs under one umbrella. PAgrows
also provides consultations on federal programs, eases accessibility,
links partners with projects, and helps applicants to complete
